The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently (1) and those that blow gently, (2) by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), (3) And then they speed with foremost speed. (4) And those who govern the event, (5) [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] (6) And there will follow it the next blast. (7) hearts will throb on that Day (8) and their eyes shall be humbled. (9) They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? (10) even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" (11) They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. (12) But it shall be only a single scare, (13) When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, (14) Have you heard the story of Moses? (15) When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? (16) "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: (17) Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: (18) Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" (19) And he showed him the tremendous token. (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; (22) and gathered his people and declared: (23) then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. (26)
