The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, (1) By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); (2) And by those who float in space, (3) Then outpace the others swiftly (4) and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). (5) One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, (6) to be followed by further [convulsions], (7) hearts will be throbbing, (8) Their eyes humbled. (9) (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state (10) “When we have become decayed bones?” (11) They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." (12) Surely it will need but one shout, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" (19) He showed him the mighty sign, (20) But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. (21) Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) and gathered his people together (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). (26)
