The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, (1) and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, (2) And who glide with ease. (3) And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). (4) by those that direct an affair! (5) On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], (6) and will be followed by the second one, (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) and their eyes will be humbled. (9) [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state (10) What! when we are rotten bones? (11) They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." (12) [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry (13) And they will wake up suddenly. (14) Did the news of Moosa reach you? (15) when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, (16) saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. (17) And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; (18) "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" (19) Moses showed him the great sign, (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) Then he turned away, deliberating, (22) Then gathered he and summoned (23) saying, "I am your supreme lord". (24) So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. (25) Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. (26)
