The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) By the meteors rushing, (2) By the angels who glide swimmingly, (3) and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, (4) and by those who regulate events. (5) On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), (6) What must happen afterwards shall follow it. (7) Hearts that Day will be in agitation; (8) Eyes be lowered in submission. (9) They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? (10) What! when we are rotten bones? (11) They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". (12) It will only be a single blast, (13) and behold, they are awakened. (14) Hast thou received the story of Moses? (15) How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, (16) [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, (17) and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) So he showed him the mighty sign. (20) Yet he belied and disobeyed. (21) Then he went back hastily. (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". (24) So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. (25) surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. (26)
