The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, (1) and those that draw out violently, (2) and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) And direct affairs by command, (5) On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), (6) followed by the succeeding, (7) Hearts on that day shall palpitate, (8) Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. (9) They say: "Shall we go back to our original state (10) What! when we are rotten bones? (11) They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." (12) Surely it will need but one shout, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Have you heard the story of Moses? (15) Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- (16) saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. (17) and say: "Will you purify yourself, (18) that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” (19) Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; (20) In response, he denied and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned away in a hurry, (22) then he mustered (23) “I am the supreme lord of you all.” (24) Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
