The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
