The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) (1) by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, (2) And who glide with ease. (3) and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: (4) And those who arrange [each] matter, (5) [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] (6) and the second blast follows it, (7) Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; (8) and their eyes will be humbled. (9) They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? (10) "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" (11) They say: that then shall be a losing return. (12) But it will be only a single blow, (13) And they will wake up suddenly. (14) Have you heard the story of Moses? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. (17) And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; (18) And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" (19) And he showed him the greatest sign, (20) But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); (21) then he turned away hastily, (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' (24) So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. (25) In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. (26)
