The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, (1) and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, (2) And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming (3) and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); (4) And those who govern the event, (5) On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) (6) to be followed by further [convulsions], (7) Hearts on that day shall palpitate, (8) and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. (9) They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, (10) Even if we should be decayed bones? (11) [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" (12) It will be only one scaring shout, (13) and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). (14) Have you heard the story of Moses? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) That “Go to Firaun he has rebelled.” (17) and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) So he showed him the mighty sign. (20) But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. (21) Then he quickly turned his back. (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. (26)
