The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
