46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, (1) and those that draw out violently, (2) and float [through space] with floating serene, (3) and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); (4) And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). (5) The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, (6) There will follow it the subsequent [one]. (7) hearts will throb on that Day (8) Their eyes cast down. (9) (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state (10) "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" (11) They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." (12) Surely it will need but one shout, (13) and behold! They will all come out in the open. (14) Has the story of Moses reached thee? (15) His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: (16) "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, (17) and say: "Will you purify yourself, (18) And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. (19) Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). (20) but he belied and disobeyed, (21) Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) Then gathered he and summoned (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. (25) Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). (26)
