The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence (1) And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) (2) and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) and by those who regulate events. (5) A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, (6) And the second followeth it, (7) On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), (8) While eyes are downcast (9) The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” (10) When we have become bones decayed! (11) They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' (12) But it shall be only a single cry, (13) and behold, they are awakened. (14) Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? (15) How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, (16) Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. (17) And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; (18) And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? (19) Moses showed him the great sign, (20) Yet he belied and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned away, deliberating, (22) Then gathered he and summoned (23) And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” (24) So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. (25) surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. (26)
