The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, (1) And [by] those who remove with ease (2) And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). (3) by the angels who hasten along (4) And those who arrange [each] matter, (5) On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts (6) What must happen afterwards shall follow it. (7) On that day hearts beat painfully (8) and eyes will be humbly cast down. (9) (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again (10) even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" (11) and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." (12) It will only be a single blast, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Has the story of Moses come to you (15) Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. (16) [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, (17) And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) He then turned away, striving in his effort. (22) And he summoned all his people, (23) Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." (24) So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. (25) In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. (26)
