The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) and those that blow gently, (2) And by those who float in space, (3) By the angels hastening, (4) And then they manage the affair, (5) One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, (6) And the second followeth it, (7) Hearts will pound loudly on that day, (8) Their eyes cast down. (9) (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again (10) Even after we are crumbled bones? (11) They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. (12) But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, (13) When lo! they shall be wakeful. (14) Has not there come to you the story of Musa? (15) Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: (16) and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, (17) And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? (18) that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." (19) Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; (20) But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. (21) Then he went back hastily. (22) Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, (23) saying, "I am your supreme lord". (24) And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. (25) Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. (26)
