The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, (1) And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, (2) And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), (3) and those that outstrip suddenly (4) and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). (5) On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) (6) There will follow it the subsequent [one]. (7) Many a heart will flutter on that day! (8) and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. (9) [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state (10) even after we have turned into decayed bones?" (11) They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". (12) It will be only one scaring shout, (13) and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! (14) Has the story of Moses come to you (15) When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: (16) 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. (17) And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", (18) And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. (19) And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. (20) Yet he belied and disobeyed. (21) and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." (24) Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. (25) Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! (26)
