The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, (1) By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); (2) By the lone stars floating, (3) and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); (4) And who plan the implementation. (5) On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) (6) and the second blast follows it, (7) Hearts will pound loudly on that day, (8) and their eyes will be humbled. (9) They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? (10) What! when we are rotten bones? (11) They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” (12) But it shall be only a single scare, (13) And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. (14) Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! (15) when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, (16) saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. (17) And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) Moses showed him the great sign, (20) But he denied and disobeyed, (21) Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
