The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, (1) and gently take it away; (2) And who glide with ease. (3) and those that outstrip suddenly (4) Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), (5) On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], (6) and the second blast follows it, (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) and their eyes will be humbled. (9) They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, (10) "Even after we are crumbled bones?" (11) They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" (12) However, it will only take a single blast (13) and behold! They will all come out in the open. (14) Has the story of Moses come to you (15) Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: (16) Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. (17) Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: (18) [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" (19) Moses showed him the great miracle (20) But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; (21) Then he turned away in a hurry, (22) then he mustered (23) And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” (24) Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. (25) Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). (26)
