The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) (1) And [by] those who remove with ease (2) And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). (3) And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). (4) And direct affairs by command, (5) On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), (6) and will be followed by another quaking. (7) On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), (8) While eyes are downcast (9) They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? (10) Even if we should be decayed bones? (11) and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." (12) But it will be only a single blow, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. (17) Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? (18) that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." (19) So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. (20) but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). (21) and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; (22) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (23) and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. (26)
