The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, (1) By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); (2) By the angels who glide swimmingly, (3) Then press forward as in a race, (4) and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). (5) The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively (6) Followed by the second blast, (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) Eyes be lowered in submission. (9) They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, (10) "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" (11) and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." (12) However, it will only take a single blast (13) When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, (14) Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? (15) when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, (16) 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. (17) And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? (18) And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. (19) Then he shewed him the great sign. (20) but he denied it as false and disobeyed, (21) He then turned away, striving in his effort. (22) and gathered his people together (23) And said, "I am your most exalted lord." (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
