The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently (1) And those who undo the bonds gently, (2) and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and (3) by those that outstrip them suddenly, (4) And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). (5) On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts (6) And the following event will come after it. (7) Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; (8) Their eyes humbled. (9) They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? (10) even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" (11) They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' (12) So that is not but a single shout. (13) And they will wake up suddenly. (14) Has the story of Moses come to you (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, (17) and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? (18) that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” (19) He showed him the mighty sign, (20) But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] (21) Then he turned his back, striving. (22) then he mustered (23) and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' (24) So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. (25) Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! (26)
