The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, (1) And those who undo the bonds gently, (2) And who glide with ease. (3) by the angels who hasten along (4) And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). (5) On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) (6) And the second followeth it, (7) Hearts that Day will be in agitation; (8) while eyes will be downcast. (9) They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? (10) "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" (11) They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” (12) But it will be only a single blow, (13) and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! (14) Did the news of Moosa reach you? (15) when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, (16) saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. (17) Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? (18) And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" (19) Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; (20) But he denied and disobeyed, (21) Then he turned his back, striving. (22) then he mustered (23) And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." (24) So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. (25) Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! (26)
