The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence (1) and those that draw out violently, (2) And by those who float in space, (3) By the angels hastening, (4) And direct affairs by command, (5) On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], (6) And the following event will come after it. (7) hearts will be throbbing, (8) Unable to lift their gaze. (9) They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? (10) What, when we are bones old and wasted?' (11) They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." (12) So that is not but a single shout. (13) and lo, they will all be in the open plain. (14) Has not there come to you the story of Musa? (15) When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. (16) (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - (17) And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? (18) that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” (19) So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. (20) but he denied it as false and disobeyed, (21) Then he turned his back, striving. (22) So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. (23) Saying: "I am your lord, most high", (24) So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
