The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. (1) And [by] those who remove with ease (2) And those who glide swimmingly, (3) and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); (4) And then they manage the affair, (5) On the day when the first trump resoundeth. (6) and the second blast follows it, (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) Unable to lift their gaze. (9) [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state (10) After having turned to carious bones?" (11) They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” (12) But it will be only a single blow, (13) When lo! they shall be wakeful. (14) Has the story of Moses come to you (15) His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, (16) "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, (17) And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself (18) Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" (19) He showed him the mighty sign, (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned away in a hurry, (22) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (23) and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," (24) So God struck him with the torment of this life and the life hereafter. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
