The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, (2) And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming (3) And then they speed with foremost speed. (4) and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). (5) On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], (6) And the second followeth it, (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) Their eyes cast down. (9) They say: "Shall we go back to our original state (10) even after we have turned into decayed bones?" (11) They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” (12) It will be only one scaring shout, (13) When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, (14) Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? (15) His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: (16) Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. (17) And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; (18) Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). (19) And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. (20) But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] (21) Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. (26)
