The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; (1) and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, (2) and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and (3) and those that outstrip suddenly (4) And those who arrange [each] matter, (5) On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], (6) to be followed by further [convulsions]! (7) On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, (8) Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. (9) They say: "Shall we go back to our original state (10) even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" (11) They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. (12) But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). (13) And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. (14) Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? (15) Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: (16) That “Go to Firaun he has rebelled.” (17) And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? (18) And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" (19) Moses showed him the great sign, (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) Then he went back hastily. (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" (24) So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. (25) surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. (26)
