The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) By the meteors rushing, (2) And by those who float in space, (3) by the angels who hasten along (4) by the managers (angels) affair. (5) On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) (6) And there will follow it the next blast. (7) hearts will undergo terrible trembling, (8) Unable to lift their gaze. (9) They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? (10) When we have become bones decayed! (11) They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' (12) Surely it will need but one shout, (13) When lo! they shall be wakeful. (14) Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! (15) Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- (16) Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. (19) Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, (22) And he gathered [his people] and called out (23) Saying: "I am your lord, most high", (24) So God struck him with the torment of this life and the life hereafter. (25) In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. (26)
