The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently (1) By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); (2) by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently (3) And then they speed with foremost speed. (4) And who plan the implementation. (5) On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), (6) to be followed by further [convulsions]! (7) On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), (8) and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. (9) [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state (10) even after we are fragmented bones' (11) They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. (12) Surely it will need but one shout, (13) and lo, they will all be in the open plain. (14) Has Moses' story reached you? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). (17) And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself (18) Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). (19) Moses showed him the great sign, (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. (24) Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
