The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, (1) And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) (2) And those who glide swimmingly, (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) And those who arrange [each] matter, (5) Upon the day when the first blast shivers (6) and will be followed by the second one, (7) On that day hearts beat painfully (8) Their eyes cast down. (9) They say: "Shall we go back to our original state (10) even after we have turned into decayed bones?" (11) They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. (12) But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, (13) to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. (14) Did the news of Moosa reach you? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). (17) Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) So he showed him the mighty sign. (20) But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); (21) Then he went back hastily. (22) Then gathered he and summoned (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. (26)
