The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 That “Go to Firaun he has rebelled.” 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
