The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; (1) By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); (2) And who glide with ease. (3) by those that outstrip them suddenly, (4) and by those who regulate events. (5) [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] (6) Followed by the second blast, (7) hearts will be throbbing, (8) Their eyes cast down. (9) They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? (10) even after we are fragmented bones' (11) They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". (12) Surely it will need but one shout, (13) When lo! they shall be wakeful. (14) Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! (15) When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: (16) saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. (19) And he showed him the greatest sign, (20) But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; (21) Then he turned back striving. (22) then he mustered (23) And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” (24) So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. (25) Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. (26)
