The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. (1) By the angels who release with gentle release. (2) And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming (3) And those who race each other in a race (4) and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). (5) The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, (6) And the following event will come after it. (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) while eyes will be downcast. (9) They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, (10) After having turned to carious bones?" (11) They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” (12) So that is not but a single shout. (13) and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! (14) Has Moses' story reached you? (15) Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. (16) "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: (17) And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; (18) Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" (19) So he showed him the greater sign; (20) but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). (21) Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, (23) Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." (24) So God struck him with the torment of this life and the life hereafter. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
