The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence (1) And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) (2) by those that swim serenely (3) By the angels hastening, (4) And direct affairs by command, (5) The day on which the quaking one shall quake, (6) followed by the succeeding, (7) Many a heart will flutter on that day! (8) Their eyes cast down. (9) They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, (10) Even after we are crumbled bones? (11) [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" (12) So that is not but a single shout. (13) When lo! they shall be wakeful. (14) Has the story of Moses come to you (15) When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? (16) "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, (17) And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? (18) that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” (19) Then he shewed him the great sign. (20) But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. (21) and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, (22) and gathered his people and declared: (23) then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' (24) but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
