The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, (1) And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, (2) By the lone stars floating, (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) And those who arrange [each] matter, (5) [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] (6) The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (7) Hearts that Day will be in agitation; (8) Unable to lift their gaze. (9) They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, (10) Even if we should be decayed bones? (11) They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." (12) But all it will take is a single blast, (13) and behold! They will all come out in the open. (14) Has there reached you the story of Moses? - (15) How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, (16) and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, (17) Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: (18) that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” (19) Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; (20) But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; (21) Then turned he away in haste, (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. (26)
