The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, (1) By the meteors rushing, (2) by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently (3) Then press forward as in a race, (4) And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). (5) On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], (6) and will be followed by the second one, (7) Hearts, that Day, will tremble, (8) While eyes are downcast (9) (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again (10) What, when we are bones old and wasted?' (11) They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." (12) So that is not but a single shout. (13) And they will wake up suddenly. (14) Has the story of Moses reached thee? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. (17) And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? (18) And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" (19) So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. (20) but he cried lies, and rebelled, (21) He then turned away, striving in his effort. (22) So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. (23) Saying: "I am your lord, most high", (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). (26)
