The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); (2) and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) And those who arrange [each] matter, (5) On the day when the first trump resoundeth. (6) to be followed by further [convulsions], (7) Many a heart will flutter on that day! (8) and eyes will be humbly cast down. (9) They say: "Shall we go back to our original state (10) even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" (11) They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' (12) It will be only one scaring shout, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. (15) When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: (16) "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: (17) and say, 'Will you reform yourself? (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) So he showed him the mighty sign. (20) But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] (21) Then he went back hastily. (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' (24) but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: (25) Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. (26)
