The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) By the angels who release with gentle release. (2) And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), (3) And those who race each other in a race (4) Then those who regulate the affair. (5) On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], (6) There will follow it the subsequent [one]. (7) hearts will undergo terrible trembling, (8) Eyes be lowered in submission. (9) They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? (10) even after we have turned into decayed bones?" (11) They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." (12) Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Have you heard the story of Moses? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - (17) And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? (18) Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. (19) So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) And he gathered [his people] and called out (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. (25) In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. (26)
