The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, (1) By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); (2) And those who glide swimmingly, (3) And those who race each other in a race (4) and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). (5) The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, (6) and will be followed by another quaking. (7) hearts will undergo terrible trembling, (8) and their eyes shall be humbled. (9) (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state (10) After having turned to carious bones?" (11) and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." (12) But all it will take is a single blast, (13) When lo! they shall be wakeful. (14) Has the story of Moses reached thee? (15) When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - (17) and say: "Will you purify yourself, (18) And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" (19) Moses showed him the great miracle (20) But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. (21) then he turned away hastily, (22) then he mustered (23) and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," (24) And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
