The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, (1) and gently take it away; (2) And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming (3) Then outpace the others swiftly (4) by the managers (angels) affair. (5) The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively (6) to be followed by further [convulsions]! (7) hearts will be throbbing, (8) Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. (9) (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again (10) even after we have turned into decayed bones?" (11) They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" (12) It will only be a single blast, (13) When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, (14) HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. (15) His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: (16) "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. (19) And he showed him the greatest sign, (20) In response, he denied and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned away in a hurry, (22) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (23) and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. (26)
