The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) (1) by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), (2) and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and (3) and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, (4) And then they manage the affair, (5) One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, (6) What must happen afterwards shall follow it. (7) Hearts that Day will be in agitation; (8) Unable to lift their gaze. (9) [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state (10) What! when we are rotten bones? (11) They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". (12) However, it will only take a single blast (13) and lo, they will all be in the open plain. (14) HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. (15) When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, (16) That “Go to Firaun he has rebelled.” (17) and say, 'Will you reform yourself? (18) And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? (19) So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. (20) But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); (21) Then he quickly turned his back. (22) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (23) Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". (24) And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. (25) surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. (26)
