The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, (1) By the meteors rushing, (2) And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), (3) Then those who are foremost going ahead, (4) by the managers (angels) affair. (5) A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, (6) and the second blast follows it, (7) Hearts will pound loudly on that day, (8) and their eyes shall be humbled. (9) They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? (10) even after we are fragmented bones' (11) They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' (12) Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, (13) And they will wake up suddenly. (14) Did the news of Moosa reach you? (15) when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, (16) "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. (17) “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ (18) that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” (19) Moses showed him the great sign, (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) Then he quickly turned his back. (22) Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, (23) Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". (24) Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. (25) In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. (26)
