The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. (1) and those that draw out violently, (2) and float [through space] with floating serene, (3) and those that outstrip suddenly (4) And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). (5) On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], (6) And there will follow it the next blast. (7) hearts will be throbbing, (8) and eyes will be humbly cast down. (9) They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? (10) “When we have become decayed bones?” (11) They say: that then shall be a losing return. (12) Surely it will need but one shout, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! (15) Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- (16) [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, (17) “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ (18) Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. (19) And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned away in a hurry, (22) Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, (23) saying, "I am your supreme lord". (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. (26)
