The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, (1) by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), (2) and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), (3) and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: (4) by the managers (angels) affair. (5) On the day when the first trump resoundeth. (6) And there will follow it the next blast. (7) (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. (8) and their eyes shall be humbled. (9) They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? (10) What! when we are rotten bones? (11) They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" (12) So that is not but a single shout. (13) and lo, they will all be in the open plain. (14) Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right (17) And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) So he showed him the mighty sign. (20) But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] (21) Then he went back hastily. (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. (26)
