The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, (1) and those that blow gently, (2) by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), (3) By the angels hastening, (4) and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). (5) [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] (6) And the second followeth it, (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) and eyes will be humbly cast down. (9) They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, (10) even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” (11) They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. (12) Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, (13) When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, (14) Did the news of Moosa reach you? (15) Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: (16) saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) Moses showed him the great sign, (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. (25) Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. (26)
