The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, (2) by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently (3) And those who race each other in a race (4) Then those who regulate the affair. (5) [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] (6) What must happen afterwards shall follow it. (7) On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), (8) while eyes will be downcast. (9) They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? (10) even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" (11) They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. (12) Indeed, it will be but one shout, (13) And lo! they will be awakened. (14) Has Moses' story reached you? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. (17) And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? (18) ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” (19) Then he shewed him the great sign. (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned back striving. (22) Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, (23) and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. (26)
