The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, (1) By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); (2) and float [through space] with floating serene, (3) by the angels who hasten along (4) Then those who regulate the affair. (5) Upon the day when the first blast shivers (6) And there will follow it the next blast. (7) Hearts that Day will be in agitation; (8) and their eyes will be humbled. (9) (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again (10) When we have become bones decayed! (11) They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' (12) But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). (13) And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. (14) Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? (15) When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, (16) 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. (17) Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: (18) And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" (19) Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) and hastily turned away, (22) So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. (23) And said, "I am your most exalted lord." (24) So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. (25) Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! (26)
