The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently (1) And those who undo the bonds gently, (2) and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), (3) And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). (4) And then they manage the affair, (5) On the Day, the shiverer shivers (6) and will be followed by the second one, (7) Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; (8) and their eyes shall be humbled. (9) They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? (10) “When we have become decayed bones?” (11) and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." (12) But it shall be only a single cry, (13) and behold! They will all come out in the open. (14) HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. (15) Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: (16) Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. (17) And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself (18) and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' (19) Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; (20) But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); (21) Then he turned his back, striving. (22) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (23) then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' (24) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. (25) Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. (26)
