The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, (1) And those who undo the bonds gently, (2) by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) And those who arrange [each] matter, (5) On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts (6) And the following event will come after it. (7) On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, (8) while eyes will be downcast. (9) They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? (10) What! when we are rotten bones? (11) They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." (12) But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, (13) When lo! they shall be wakeful. (14) Has the story of Moses reached thee? (15) His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: (16) and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, (17) Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: (18) and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' (19) Moses showed him the great miracle (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, (22) and gathered his people and declared: (23) “I am the supreme lord of you all.” (24) So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. (25) Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. (26)
