The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; (1) by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), (2) and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and (3) by the angels who hasten along (4) Then those who regulate the affair. (5) On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), (6) and will be followed by another quaking. (7) hearts will throb on that Day (8) Their eyes humbled. (9) They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? (10) "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" (11) They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. (12) But all it will take is a single blast, (13) and behold, they are awakened. (14) Has the story of Moses come to you (15) when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, (16) and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, (17) And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? (18) that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." (19) Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. (20) But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. (21) then he turned away hastily, (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) And said, "I am your most exalted lord." (24) Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. (25) surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. (26)
