The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently (1) and gently take it away; (2) and float [through space] with floating serene, (3) and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); (4) And direct affairs by command, (5) A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, (6) Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): (7) On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, (8) [and] their eyes downcast... (9) They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? (10) Even if we should be decayed bones? (11) They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." (12) But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). (13) When lo! they shall be wakeful. (14) Did the news of Moosa reach you? (15) His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, (16) and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, (17) And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; (18) Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" (19) Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. (20) Yet he belied and disobeyed. (21) then he turned away hastily, (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. (25) Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). (26)
