The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) (1) And those who undo the bonds gently, (2) and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), (5) The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, (6) The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (7) On that day hearts beat painfully (8) Their eyes humbled. (9) They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? (10) even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" (11) They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. (12) However, it will only take a single blast (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Has there reached you the story of Moses? - (15) When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, (16) Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). (17) Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? (18) Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). (19) So he showed him the greater sign; (20) but he cried lies, and rebelled, (21) Then he turned away, deliberating, (22) Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, (23) Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. (24) So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. (25) surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. (26)
