The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) (1) By the meteors rushing, (2) And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming (3) by those that outstrip them suddenly, (4) by those that direct an affair! (5) One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, (6) And the second followeth it, (7) Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; (8) and their eyes will be humbled. (9) [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state (10) What, when we are bones old and wasted?' (11) They say: that then shall be a losing return. (12) But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, (13) and behold, they are awakened. (14) Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? (15) His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, (16) "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right (17) And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? (18) and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' (19) Moses showed him the great miracle (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) and hastily turned away, (22) Then gathered he and summoned (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). (26)
