The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, (1) and those that blow gently, (2) and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), (3) and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: (4) and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). (5) On the day when the first trump resoundeth. (6) And the second followeth it, (7) (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. (8) and eyes will be humbly cast down. (9) [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state (10) after we have become bones and dust?" (11) They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” (12) But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, (13) And they will wake up suddenly. (14) Has the story of Moses reached thee? (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” (19) Then he shewed him the great sign. (20) But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. (21) and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; (22) then he mustered (23) And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. (26)
