The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) (1) and those that draw out violently, (2) and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), (3) and those that outstrip suddenly (4) and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! (5) On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], (6) The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. (9) (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state (10) "Even after we are crumbled bones?" (11) They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". (12) So that is not but a single shout. (13) and behold, they are awakened. (14) Have you heard the story of Moses? (15) When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. (17) And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", (18) and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' (19) So he showed him the greater sign; (20) In response, he denied and disobeyed. (21) Then turned he away in haste, (22) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (23) and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" (24) So God struck him with the torment of this life and the life hereafter. (25) Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! (26)
