The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; (1) And [by] those who remove with ease (2) And those who glide swimmingly, (3) And then they speed with foremost speed. (4) Then those who regulate the affair. (5) Upon the day when the first blast shivers (6) And the second followeth it, (7) On that day hearts beat painfully (8) Unable to lift their gaze. (9) They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, (10) When we have become bones decayed! (11) [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" (12) Indeed, it will be but one shout, (13) And lo! they will be awakened. (14) Has the story of Moses reached thee? (15) His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: (16) "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right (17) and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? (18) [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" (19) So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. (20) But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. (21) Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (23) And said, "I am your most exalted lord." (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. (26)
