The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, (1) By the meteors rushing, (2) By the lone stars floating, (3) and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); (4) Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), (5) On the day when the first trump resoundeth. (6) and the second blast follows it, (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) Their eyes humbled. (9) The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” (10) When we have become bones decayed! (11) They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" (12) But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, (13) and behold, they are awakened. (14) Did the news of Moosa reach you? (15) when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, (16) [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, (17) and say: "Will you purify yourself, (18) and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' (19) Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. (20) but he denied it and refused [the faith]. (21) Then he went back hastily. (22) Then gathered he and summoned (23) “I am the supreme lord of you all.” (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. (26)
