The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently (1) by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), (2) And those who glide swimmingly, (3) By the angels hastening, (4) And who plan the implementation. (5) A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, (6) There will follow it the subsequent [one]. (7) hearts will be throbbing, (8) Unable to lift their gaze. (9) They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, (10) "Even after we are crumbled bones?" (11) and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." (12) It will be only one scaring shout, (13) When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). (14) Did the news of Moosa reach you? (15) His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, (16) (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - (17) and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? (18) And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. (19) So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. (20) But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); (21) and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; (22) And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, (23) And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” (24) And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. (25) Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! (26)
