The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, (1) By the angels who release with gentle release. (2) and float [through space] with floating serene, (3) by those that outstrip them suddenly, (4) and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). (5) One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, (6) The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (7) Hearts on that day shall palpitate, (8) and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. (9) They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? (10) Even after we are crumbled bones? (11) They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". (12) It will be only one scaring shout, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Have you received the story of Moses? (15) His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: (16) "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. (17) and say: "Will you purify yourself, (18) And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" (19) Moses showed him the great miracle (20) But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). (22) Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, (23) And he said: I am your Lord, most high. (24) So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. (25) Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). (26)
