The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? (1) Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. (2) Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). (3) Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. (4) Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms (5) a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. (6) They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. (7) And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- (8) (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. (9) "Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day, hard and distressful, that will make the faces look horrible (from extreme dislikeness to it)." (10) So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness (11) For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. (12) Reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. (13) And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. (14) And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. (15) (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. (16) They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water (17) from a flowing spring called Salsabil. (18) ۞ They will be attended by youths who will not age -- when you see them you will think them to be like sprinkled pearls -- (19) If you were to see it, you would find it to be a great kingdom with great bounty. (20) Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. (22)
