31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Was there not a period of time when man was nothing worth mentioning? (1) Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. (2) Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. (3) Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. (4) The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor (5) a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. (6) These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide; (7) And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. (8) (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, (9) Verily we dread from our Lord a Day grim and distressful. (10) So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness (11) and recompense them for their patience with a Garden, and robes of silk. (12) They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. (13) And the shade thereof is close upon them, and the bunches of fruit thereof will hang low within their reach. (14) And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass], (15) Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). (16) And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. (17) from a fountain called Salsabila. (18) ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. (19) When you see them, you see bliss, and a great Kingdom. (20) Upon those [blest] will be garments of green silk and brocade; and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. And their Sustainer will them to drink of a drink most pure. (21) Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. (22)
