The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. (2) Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. (3) For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. (4) The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor (5) A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth. (6) They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. (7) who give food, for the love of Him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8) saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. (9) "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." (10) Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; (11) and recompense them for their patience with a Garden, and robes of silk. (12) There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. (13) near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, (14) and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver and goblets of crystal, (15) crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. (16) And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. (17) [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall surround them, waiting upon them; when you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. (19) And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. (20) On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink. (21) Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. (22)
