The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? (1) Indeed We have created man from mixed semen; in order to test him We therefore made him hearing, knowing. (2) Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). (3) Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. (4) Surely the pious shall drink of a cup whose mixture is camphor, (5) A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. (6) They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; (7) And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- (8) (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; (9) Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. (10) Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; (11) and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. (12) [They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold. (13) And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. (14) They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. (15) Godblets of silver, they shall have filled them to exact measure. (16) And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. (17) [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. (18) ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. (19) And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. (20) Upon those [blest] will be garments of green silk and brocade; and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. And their Sustainer will them to drink of a drink most pure. (21) It will be said to them, “This is your reward indeed your efforts have been appreciated.” (22)
