The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. (1) We created man from a drop of mingled fluid so that We might try him; We gave him hearing and sight; (2) We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will). (3) Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. (4) As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- (5) A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance]. (6) they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; (7) And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. (8) saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. (9) for we fear from our Lord a stern, frownful Day' (10) So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. (11) For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. (12) In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe, (13) The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. (14) And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- (15) Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. (16) Therein they shall be served a cup flavoured with ginger, (17) From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. (18) ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. (19) And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. (20) Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink. (21) (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted." (22)
