The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
WAS THERE NOT a time in the life of man when he was not even a mentionable thing? (1) Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight. (2) We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny. (3) Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. (4) Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor (5) This will be a gushing spring wherefrom Allah's servants shall drink wine, a spring from which they will take out channels wherever they wish. (6) They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. (7) who give food, for the love of Him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8) (Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks. (9) Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." (10) So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. (11) And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. (12) Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, (13) The shadows will bend over them, and low will hang the clusters of grapes. (14) And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal (15) Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. (16) And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger, (17) Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. (18) ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. (19) when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. (20) Upon them there will be garments of green silk, rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure beverage to drink. (21) "This in truth is your recompense, and acceptance of your endeavours." (22)
