In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? (1) We created man from a drop of mingled fluid so that We might try him; We gave him hearing and sight; (2) Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (3) Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. (4) Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor (5) a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. (6) The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. (7) And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8) 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; (9) Verily we dread from our Lord a Day grim and distressful. (10) So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, (11) And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. (12) [They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold. (13) The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; (14) Passed round will be silver flagons and goblets made of glass, (15) (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. (16) They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water (17) (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, (19) And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. (20) they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. (22)
