The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. (2) Verily, We have shown him the way: [and it rests with him to prove himself] either grateful or ungrateful. (3) Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. (4) the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, (5) A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. (6) (Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading, (7) And they give food, inspite of their love for it (or for the love of Him), to Miskin (poor), the orphan, and the captive, (8) (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. (9) behold, we stand in awe of our Sustainer's judgment on a distressful, fateful Day!" (10) But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy. (11) And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. (12) Where they will recline on couches feeling neither heat of the sun nor intense cold. (13) The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; (14) And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. (15) Godblets of silver, they shall have filled them to exact measure. (16) And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- (17) (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. (18) ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. (19) when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. (20) they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. (22)
