The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. (2) Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. (3) Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. (4) Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur, (5) A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah drink, making it gush forth abundantly, (6) Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide, (7) And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. (8) "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. (9) Verily we dread from our Lord a Day grim and distressful. (10) Therefore, God will ward off from them the woes of that Day, and make them find brightness and joy, (11) And hath awarded them for all that they endured, a Garden and silk attire; (12) Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). (13) near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, (14) and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver, and goblets of crystal, (15) And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. (16) And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. (17) drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, (19) And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. (20) In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. (21) Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. (22)
