The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. (1) We have created the human from a (sperm) drop, a mixture, testing him; We made him to hear and see. (2) Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. (3) Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. (4) The virtuous shall drink from a cup tempered with camphor water. (5) a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. (6) They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. (7) who give food, for the love of Him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8) (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, (9) We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". (10) Wherefore Allah shall preserve them from the evil of that Day, and shall cause them to meet brightness and joy. (11) and recompense them for their patience with a Garden, and robes of silk. (12) In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe, (13) And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. (14) And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal (15) And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. (16) Therein they shall be served a cup flavoured with ginger, (17) From a spring by the name of Ever-flowing-Salsabil. (18) ۞ Immortal youths will go about them, when you see them, you would suppose them to be scattered pearls. (19) And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. (20) On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink. (21) Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. (22)
